Part of a series of graphite drawings that deconstruct the traditional notion of anatomy.
They incorporate surreal elements that evoke feelings of dissection. The simple shapes are extended to depict decomposition of time. Something that was once beautiful and whole, is now at its final moment, just before it collapses on itself.
It is a brief moment of suspension that screams: Nothing lasts forever.
The dark and contrasting usage of graphite is to add a touch of realism and dramatic tension to the brain. The central nervous system is reduced to bulging strings of sinews. The drawing floats on a bare background.
