Delusions of Disintegration – Double Exposure
Medium: Graphite Pencil and Gold Metallic Paint on Paper
Nr 2 is reminiscent of double-exposure photography. Only the bottom half of the face is visible, with the top blending into a forest of winter trees. Gold bleeds from the trees onto the skin and hair, with a trickle-down the chin onto the neck. In my original illustration, the face seemed melancholic and almost distressed, with a down-turned mouth. In this version, the mouth is breaking into a playful smile—a symbol of carefreeness and making light of a dark situation.
