La Muerte: The Lady Skeleton.
A delicate combination of contrasting textures within the same colour range. The palette is desaturated and cold, except for her wine-red hair.
La Muerte is glancing over her shoulder, wearing a skull as a mask over her decaying face. Her red hair is wound into a Victorian updo with antlers poking out. Her complexion matches the skull and the horns. Her eyes are hollow and gaping black. She has a ghastly grin of teeth without lips. Lace dressing is slipping from her shoulder and ends in a curl of blackened veins. The veins merge into a braid of bright red hair from oil paint to black ink.
La Muerte floats on a background washed with light mint.
