The ‘horrification’ of a simple beetroot.
A bite in the beet reveals sharp fish bones in the shape of burglar bars. Deep shadows inside the beetroot keep the bones illuminated above everything else. Dark graphite shading is offset with a light wash of purple and green coloured pencils, leaving the bones grey.
The beet seems like any other, with it’s roots intact, and colourful leaves arching above it.
The Nature Macabre range is aimed at the mass-hysteria over GMO foods and the alarming rise of food intolerances.
