Noise Bird is a surreal and realistic graphite drawing of the humble, yet overly noisy, Hadeda. A bird more known
for its cacophonous squawking than its magnificent and shimmering plumage.
Its features are exaggerated by adding six flamboyant feathers on its head and back. Extra eyes gleam proudly like glass beads.
Wisps of smoke emerge from the bird’s torso and head. Legs are replaced with a mass of smoke and three tail feathers are extended. The bird seems to be smouldering like a phoenix rising from the ashes.
Soft blending of smoke merges with dark and harsh shaded textures. Noise Bird floats on a bare background.
